Meet Maurice N. Gunraj, DDS

Dr. Maurice Gunraj attended Howard University College of Dentistry, graduating in 1982. Dr. Gunraj graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a certificate of specialty in endodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry in 1986. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He was a consultant with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, D.C, from 1996 to 2013. He has been practicing in his specialty of endodontics for 24 years. Dr. Gunraj also served as an associate professor and chairman in the department of Endodontics at Howard University from 1986 to 2002. Dr. Gunraj opened his own modern, state-of-the-art practice in Silver Spring in July 2002. He takes CE courses every year to stay ahead of the most evolving topics in dentistry and endodontics.

Dr. Gunraj has lectured extensively at local, national, and international organizations of dentistry. He has also published many papers in the endodontics specialty. He was the recipient of many merit rewards for academic excellence, outstanding instructor, and excellent clinician. Dr. Gunraj has published in the well-known Journal of Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology, National Dental Association, and numerous other journals.

Dr. Gunraj currently resides in Brookeville, Maryland, with his wife, Dr. Kaur. They have been happily married since 2002. Dr. Gunraj enjoys reading, watching all sports on TV, and doing little handyman projects around the house. He also has a passion for watching The History Channel and historical plays.

Dr. Gunraj believes in providing gentle, caring, and quality services to the patients he treats. He believes in perfection and loves his chosen field of specialty. Dr. Gunraj is dedicated to helping his patients keep their natural teeth with root canal therapy and maintaining the integrity of their smiles.
